![]() ![]() Acceptable Ads identifies "non-annoying" ads, which AdBlock shows by default. In the terms of the deal, the original developer Michael Gundlach left operations to Adblock's continuing director, Gabriel Cubbage, and as of October 2, 2015, AdBlock began participating in the Acceptable Ads program. Sales and acceptable ads ĪdBlock was sold to an anonymous buyer in 2015 and on October 15, 2015, Gundlach's name was taken down from the site. After the one-month campaign, it raised $55,000. Gundlach launched a crowdfunding campaign on Crowdtilt in August 2013 in order to fund an ad campaign to raise awareness of ad-blocking and to rent a billboard at Times Square. In April 2021, eyeo GmbH (developer of Adblock Plus) announced its purchase of AdBlock, Inc (formerly BetaFish, Inc). In July 2018, AdBlock acquired uBlock, a commercial ad-blocker owned by uBlock LLC and based on uBlock Origin. Since 2016, AdBlock has been based on the Adblock Plus source code. It was one of the first Google Chrome extensions. The AdBlock extension was created on December 8, 2009, which is the day that supports for extensions was added to Google Chrome. It is free to download and use, and it includes optional donations to the developers. AdBlock allows users to prevent page elements, such as advertisements, from being displayed. They have done that multiple times the past week or so.5.4.2 / February 21, 2023 4 months ago ( ) (Google Chrome) Ģ.0 / February 28, 2023 3 months ago ( ) ĪdBlock is an ad-blocking browser extension for Google Chrome, Apple Safari (desktop and mobile), Firefox, Opera, and Microsoft Edge. A browser extension will come out that blocks them and twitch will have it no longer working and stopping ads in as little as 2 or 3 days. Its still blocking ads in the twitch app perfectly and Twitch has been fighting ad blocking relentlessly recently. Wonder why it blocks ads in every other app simply and automatically but YouTube it can't without having to reset YT's app data each launch. As of now that's the only way adguard can block ads in the YouTube app. I share the cost of a YT premium family plan with a few people and with YouTube music included i got rid of Spotify so I find it worth it. Pretty sure that means signing back each time but im not sure. However even adguard can't block ads in the YouTube app unless you turn on a option in the advanced settings to have AdGuard clear YouTube's app data each time you launch it. So its no wonder its not in the play store lol, google dose make A LOT if not the majority of their money from online advertising like google adsense. Super easy to use, no rooting, just install and turn it on. I never see ads of any kind in apps (no banners, no video ad roll pop ups etc). It dose a fantastic job blocking ads at the system level. I have been using the adguard android application for a year now. Like others have said, I think your only option other than using the mobile version of the YouTube site in one of the Android browsers that supports extensions/ad block would be YouTube Vanced. Sorry I'm unable to help you further! Good luck!! My only advice would be to Google "YouTube adblocker cellphone" or something similar, maybe include "reddit" in your search to find newer posts with workarounds or search for Vanced manager along with your phone type or operating system and when it gets to the screen saying its discontinued, use one of the suggested alternatives provided. I'm unsure how since I still have both the manager and the application on my phone. ![]() Unfortunately, I tried to look up Vanced manager for you to give you a link but it says it's been discontinued. I deleted it and Googled "how to install Vanced" and I found a YouTube video which included a link for the Vanced manager in the description and I installed the Vanced manager and from there installed Vanced. ![]() But the Vanced version didn't work with my new phone. ![]() I got a new phone a couple of months ago and since it was just going from one Samsung Galaxy to another, my apps and things just swapped over in my transfer/set-up. ![]()
